  5. Xlate translates data into and out of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
  6. standard forms. It supports all the latest international standards and is
  7. designed to minimise and, in most cases, eliminate the need for programming
  8. modifications necessary to trade with partners who have their own set of
  9. operating procedures. Xlate is probably the fastest and most flexible
  10. translator available. It comes complete with DISP, a data entry and printing
  11. module for low-volume users who wish to delay full integration of EDI into
  12. their existing computer systems. Odex provides the communications support
  13. necessary to send and receive EDI data with trading partners, either directly
  14. or through intermediary VAN (Value Added Networks). Odex can be used to act as
  15. a VAN itself, handling incoming and outgoing messages. Odex supports both OFTP
  16. and X400 standards. Odex can communicate asynchronously (using Mercury or GNS
  17. Dial Plus) or by using X25.
